BOOKS

There are surely a hundreds of books on spirits and cocktails out there.  Most of them might not even be worth the price of a cocktail napkin.  So here we are listing those who truly deserve the asking retail price (if not more).  The best part is, if you are going to use an electronic device to buy and read this, whether it be an iPhone, iPad or Kindle, etc, you can download a sample first before you buy.  Generally they give you the first couple of chapters and if you are totally into it and want to read more, you purchase the book and the rest is downloaded to your device.  Here are our picks for books truly worth reading even past the free sample:

  • Gentlemen Bootleggers by Bryce T. Bauer
  • Proof: The Science of Booze by Adam Rogers
  • Vintage Spirits & Forgotten Cocktails by Ted Haigh
  • BOURBON EMPIRE Past & Future by Reid Mitenbuler
  • DEAD RABBIT DRINKS MANUAL
  • GROCERY by Michael Ruhlman
  • PATSY’S ITALIAN FAMILY COOKBOOK
  • THE BAR BOOK
  • THE OLD FASHIONED by Robert Simonson & Daniel Krieger
